National Sample Survey Office
The National Sample Survey Office(NSSO) headed by a Director General is responsible for conduct of large scale sample surveys in diverse fields on All India basis. Primarily data are collected through nation-wide household surveys on various socio-economic subjects, Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), etc. Besides these surveys, NSSO collects data on rural and urban prices and plays a significant role in the improvement of crop statistics through supervision of the area enumeration and crop estimation surveys of the State agencies.  It also maintains a frame of urban area units for use in sample surveys in urban areas.
 
Annual Survey of Industries
The industrial sector is one of the important sectors of the Indian economy and hence compilation of industrial statistics assumes a crucial importance, both for research and policy-making. The Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) is the principal source of Industrial Statistics in India.
Consumer Pyramids Household Survey
Consumer Pyramids Household Survey, produced by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), is the world's largest household panel survey, a continuous survey of more than 174,000 households in India. CPHS revisits its entire sample in three four-month waves each year, permitting longitudinal analysis starting in January 2014. Overall, CPHS aims to get a sense of the economic well-being of households in India and changes in their well-being over time.
Labour Bureau Survey
Labour Bureau has been entrusted with the undertaking of the following All India Surveys, under this component:
i)  All-India Survey on Migrant workers.
ii)  All-India Survey on Domestic workers.

The objective of the survey is to Estimate the number of domestic/internal migrant workers in the country. Collect data on their household characteristics, socio economic conditions and working conditions Study the impact of COVID19 on their work.
National Family Health Survey
The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) is a large-scale, multi-round survey conducted in a representative sample of households throughout India. The survey provides state and national information for India on fertility, infant and child mortality, the practice of family planning, maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, anaemia, utilization, and quality of health and family planning services.
